It is a natural stone about 90 cm high embedded in a crack in the rock, which has a natural hole in the upper part, inside which you can see the birth of the sun in the spring and autumn equinoxes.
The god Belenus (belenus = light) was a Celtic deity of light worshipped by the Ligurian people through sacrifices and rituals.
He was known for his influence on sunlight and consequently on agriculture, crops, breeding and all human activities.
From a bizarre idea of some enthusiasts was born the “Day of the Belenoni”. It is a group of goliardic friends who twice a year go to the plateau at dawn in front of the sacred stone to witness the rite of the birth of the sun.
